On the 23rd and 24th of August 2025, Chief Instructor Richard Timmis travelled to Dublin, Ireland, to assess students under the guidance of Irish Chief Instructor Robert Bannon.
The weekend marked a significant milestone for the Irish branch. The focus was on refining traditional Wuzuquan techniques, strengthening foundations, and preserving the authentic teachings passed down from the late Grandmaster Chee Kim Thong.

Chief Instructor Timmis, a long-time student of Master Han Jin Yuan, (disciple of Grandmaster Chee), praised the dedication of the Irish students, noting their steady progress and commitment to the art. “The discipline and spirit I have seen here in Ireland is very encouraging,” he said. “Robert Bannon has done a great job in nurturing not only skill but also the deeper understanding of this profound system.”
“This visit was an opportunity to measure our practice & progress,” he commented. “The positive feedback from Chief Instructor Timmis is both motivating and humbling.”
Over the course of the weekend, students were assessed in forms, applications, conditioning, and traditional etiquette.
As the weekend concluded, both instructors emphasised the importance of maintaining the lineage’s integrity, passing on not just physical techniques but also the philosophy and values that lie at the heart of Wuzuquan.
Special thanks to Peter Dillon for making a fantastic effort to come all the way from the far side of Ireland to attend the weekend.
